The School of Life Sciences and Technology (SITH) ITB has a long reputation in scientific and technological development in the field of life sciences, since its establishment as the Department of Biology. In its journey to come into contact with issues of sustainability and, on the other hand, management based on tropical biological characteristics, SITH is required to be able to build an interdisciplinary-based academic framework, combining its life science base with social, economic and managerial approaches.

The Master of Biomanagement study program, which was previously named the Tropical Biological Resources and Environment Management study program, was organized to answer these challenges. Biomanagement, which was officially established in 2008, was designed to respond to the need for professional experts who are able to manage biological resources and the environment in tropical areas.
